Remi Award Nominee: Sum Function Selected for WorldFest-Houston

Sum Function will continue its festival run this spring with an official selection at the 59th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

The festival runs April 24 – May 3, 2026, with public screenings held at the Memorial City Cinemark Theatres in Houston, Texas. The screening will mark the film’s Texas premiere.

Founded in 1961, WorldFest-Houston is one of the longest-running independent film festivals in the world and has helped launch the careers of filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and the Coen Brothers. Each year the festival showcases a wide range of international films and emerging voices in cinema.

In addition to being selected for programming, Sum Function has also been nominated for one of the festival’s prestigious Remi Awards, recognizing outstanding achievement in filmmaking.

Sum Function follows a group of disabled veterans, each impaired in all four limbs, as they confront battles more personal than war itself on and off the wheelchair-rugby court. What begins as a pursuit of victory reveals a deeper story of survival, connection, and the fight for access in a world not built for everyone.

Additional details about the screening date and time will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.
