Festival Season is Back: Sum Function Heads to Iowa
The 2026 festival season is back in swing, and Sum Function is headed to Iowa.
We’re excited to share that the film has been selected for the 2026 Iowa Independent Film Festival, taking place September 10–12 in Mason City, Iowa.
Founded in 2007, the Iowa Independent Film Festival has spent nearly two decades screening independent films from around the world. The festival celebrates independent storytelling across genres and has welcomed filmmakers and guests including Judd Nelson, Grease director Randal Kleiser, and Saturday Night Live alum Gary Kroeger.
And this year, Sum Function is part of the lineup.
The film will screen Saturday, September 12 during Film Block F at the Mason City Community Theatre. The block runs from 2:00–4:00 PM and will be followed later that evening by the festival’s awards ceremony.
For anyone in Iowa, northern Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, or anywhere else within road-trip distance, we’d love to have you in the room.
