Sum Function Returns to SoCal for Two Festival Screenings
Sum Function is headed back to Southern California, and this stop feels a little nostalgic.
The film has been officially selected for the 25th San Diego International Film Festival, with not one, but two screenings October 15 and 16 in La Jolla.
This year, the San Diego International Film Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary with its largest slate to date: 90 films representing 22 countries, selected from a record 3,500 submissions! The six-day festival brings together independent films, documentaries, studio premieres, filmmakers, and audiences from around the world.
But Southern California has been part of the Sum Function story since long before the film was finished. In fact, some of the documentary was filmed at Camp Pendleton.
Director and Marine Corps veteran Noah Currier was stationed at Camp Pendleton during his time in the Marines. It’s also where he was injured, and years later, the film brought him back to capture part of this story. Now, with two screenings just down the coast in La Jolla, we have the chance to bring the finished film back to a community with deep ties to the Marine Corps.
That makes these screenings especially meaningful. Marines, we want you there!
