Sum Function Recognized at WorldFest-Houston

Texas was next.

On May 1, Sum Function screened at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, marking another stop in the film’s run across the country.

This stop carried a little more weight.

For the film’s director, Marine Corps veteran Noah Currier, the trip to Houston was also personal. One of his closest friends from his time in the Marine Corps lives just outside the city and was able to attend the screening with his family. It turned into more than just a film screening—there was a lot of catching up, a lot of stories, and a chance to look back on everything that’s happened since those years.

Those moments matter and remind us where it all started.

WorldFest-Houston, now in its 59th year, is one of the longest-running independent film festivals in the world, known for spotlighting both emerging and established filmmakers from around the globe. It’s a festival with real history and one we were proud to be a part of.

During the festival, Sum Function was recognized with:

  • Gold Remi Award – Audience Choice for Best Feature Documentary

  • Platinum Remi Award – Best Feature Film (First-time Filmmaker Category)

We’re grateful for the recognition, the jury and for the audience in Houston who showed up for this film.

Every city adds something new and every screening reinforces why we made Sum Function in the first place.

This story travels, and we are excited to see where we land next!
